Jason Light was elected to the office of Superintendent of Roads in 2026 after working with the City of Church Hill from 2010 till September 2026. Jason has been serving as Public Works Director for the City of Church Hill for the past 7 years.
Jason and his wife, Melissa, reside in Church Hill where they share a small business. They have two successful children and three granddaughters.
The Highway Department maintains 874 miles of roadway. Duties include paving roads both with hot top and chip and seal; patching or repairing bad areas; installing new and replacing damaged drain pipe; keeping ditches free of debris; keeping roads clear during inclement weather; mowing roadsides; repairing bridges.
The Highway Department also operates a repair shop to maintain their vehicles and road equipment.
